As many as 8 million families have received maternity capital certificates since the time the program was launched, and 56% of families have fully used their funds.
Maternity capital has helped improve living conditions of 4.7 million Russian families. Three million of those families used maternity capital to fully or partially repay their mortgage loans. Another 1.7 million families improved their living conditions without taking a loan. Improvement of living conditions remains the most popular way of spending maternity capital, for which almost 92% of all families have applied. In addition, PFR has received 410,000 applications for spending the funds on education of children and 3,500 applications for adding the funds to the mother’s funded pension.
A new way of spending maternity capital – social adaptation and integration of children with disabilities – added to the three major options last year. Sixty-six applications of the kind have been submitted by now.
Maternity capital amounts to 453,026 rubles in 2017.
Please be advised that families with a child born or adopted before December 31, 2018, are entitled to maternity capital. The issue of the maternity capital certificate and the use of the funds have no deadlines.
