PFR Board Chairman Anton Drozdov has taken part in a plenary meeting of the Russian Union of Pensioners in Moscow, which addressed the results of 2018 and primary objectives for 2019.

Drozdov pointed out years of fruitful cooperation between the Pension Fund and the Union of Pensioners in the assignment and payment of pensions and the protection of interests of senior citizens. The PFR and the RUP have been jointly implementing the computer awareness program for pensioners; the program will involve about 143,000 persons by the end of this year. In addition, the Pension Fund annually participates and gives comprehensive support to two major creative projects of the Union of Pensioners, i.e. the multidiscipline computer championship of pensioners and the contest of pensioner choirs, Battle of Choirs.

The PFR and the RUP have streamlined their cooperation, which includes consultations between regional branches of the two organizations and joint teleconferences involving specialists. The format will be used to explain provisions of the new pension law that takes effect next year. The main goal is to ensure resilience and financial stability of the pension system for years to come and to preserve and increase pensions of current and future pensioners.
