PFR Board Chairman Anton Drozdov has taken part in a meeting of the State Duma’s working group for upgrading pension laws, which took place on February 19 together with the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy, and Veterans’ Affairs. The top item on the agenda was the implementation of Federal Law No. 350-FZ that modified the national pension system. For instance, the sides discussed the indexation of pensions, the interaction with persons of pre-retirement age, higher pensions of rural pensioners, and investment of pension savings.
Anton Drozdov told meeting participants about the Fund’s effort to implement the new law and to inform Russians about new provisions and the pension reform. The PFR head answered numerous questions of deputies about the indexation of insurance pensions and social benefits of pensioners, the adjustment of lists of rural occupations, which give the right to a higher fixed payment within pension, individual pension capital, and difficulties of interaction with PFR offices in certain regions.
The PFR Board chairman assured deputies of the readiness to assist in their interaction with citizens. According to Drozdov, specialists of PFR offices will respond to requests for participating in deputies’ meetings with the population in order to assist in the resolution of pension problems and to give relevant explanations.
