Representatives of the Russian Pension Fund and the Serbian Institute for Social Insurance held a series of meetings in Moscow last week. Experts of the two countries discussed the implementation of the bilateral social security agreement signed in late 2017.
The delegations led by PFR Board Deputy Chairman Sergey Chirkov and Serbian Institute for Social Insurance Director Zoran Panovic also discussed the administrative document regarding the implementation of the social security agreement, which was signed by the two labor ministries in the beginning of this year.
The meetings addressed registration of labor record in case of employment both in Russia and in Serbia, coinciding periods of labor in both countries, and a review of pension entitlement or pension size in case pensions were awarded before the agreement took effect.
The sides also conferred on starting online interaction between social security agencies of Russia and Serbia. PFR representatives presented a draft agreement on e-document exchange for consideration of their foreign colleagues.
The sides agreed to continue their meetings in order to share practices of the development of pension reforms and the organization of social security processes, which would be a subject matter of the relevant memorandum. The meeting ended with the signing of a protocol, which formalized the agreements and the procedure for implementing the bilateral social security agreement.
