Certain types of social benefits provided by the Russian Pension Fund will grow on February 1.
First of all, the 3% growth will apply to the monthly benefit received by 15 million Russians, who are entitled to federal benefits. These include disabled persons, war veterans, persons exposed to radiation, Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia, Heroes of Socialist Labor, and some other persons.
The size of indexation depends on the 2019 inflation rates.
The cost of the package of social services included in the monthly benefit also grows 3%. Under the law, it could be provided either in kind or in cash. The full monetary equivalent of the package will grow to 1,155 rubles 6 kopecks a month on February 1. After the indexation, social services will include:
- Medications, medical products, and medicinal food for disabled children (the monthly monetary equivalent of 889 rubles and 66 kopecks),
- Health resort service for the prevention of main types of diseases (the monthly monetary equivalent of 137 rubles and 63 kopecks),
- Free transportation by suburban trains or intercity transport to the health resort and back (the monthly monetary equivalent of 127 rubles and 77 kopecks).
In addition, the size of funeral benefit paid by the Pension Fund to the family of a non-working pensioner will grow to 6,124 rubles and 86 kopecks in February.
Earlier in January, insurance pensions of 32 million non-working pensioners were increased by 6.6%.
