The Social Fund has appointed a single allowance for 80 thousand children under 17 years old. Families will receive their first payments next week.
So far, the Social Fund has received 670,000 applications for a new payment. Their reception began on December 28 on the public services portal, and on January 4, parents' applications for benefits were also accepted by the client services of the Social Fund. They worked according to a special schedule so that the Russians could apply for funds and apply for other services.
Consideration of the applications submitted by the branches of the Social Fund began on January 3 and has already approved payments for 80,000 children fewer than 17 years of age. Given the current deadlines for the provision of a single allowance, the first payments to families will be received within the next week. Funds will be transferred to the account specified during checkout. Payments will also be received by 1.5 thousand pregnant women, on whose applications a positive decision was made.
In addition, in the first days of January, the Social Fund approved payments for 33 thousand first-born children under 3 years old who appeared in families before the end of last year. Now this payment is included in a single allowance and is issued according to the new rules. At the same time, if the child was born in the family before 2023, parents can receive a payment under the previously existing conditions. That is, without taking into account property and if the family has higher incomes - within the limits of two living wages per person, and not one, as in the case of applying for a single allowance.
Recall that the new allowance replaced five previously existing support measures for needy families. These are two monthly payments for the first and third child under 3 years old, two monthly payments for children from 3 to 8 years old and children from 8 to 17 years old, as well as a monthly payment for pregnancy. A single allowance is assigned to families with incomes below the regional subsistence level per person.
Children and parents must be Russian citizens and permanently reside in Russia. When assigning a payment, a comprehensive assessment of the income and property of the family is applied, and the employment of parents is also taken into account.
